Japhet Lazarus Simon (MRICS, ACIArb) is the #Sustainability Director at QTerminals (QTerminals is a terminal operating company established by Mwani and Milaha with #shareholdings of 51% and 49% respectively). He is a Chartered Member of the #Royal #Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of #Arbitrators (CiArb).
He graduated from Leeds Metropolitan #University (now Leeds Beckett University) with #BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying in 1998. He has worked as a Quantity Surveyor for over 20 years both in the #UnitedKingdom and #GCC mainly as a #commercial and contract #law manager and specialist before moving into #ProjectDevelopment Management in the last 6 years, and was the Project Development Director for the #design, #construction, and #development of the Container #Terminal 2 (CT2) at prestigious Hamad Port during the Blockage and Covid periods.
In his current capacity as the #Sustainability Director, he is responsible for the #Environmental, Social and #Governance (ESG) Strategy and Implementation for QTerminals Group, including reduction of #CO2 emissions through the approved SBTi process, to reduce CO2 emissions by 46.6% by 2030 in line with QNV 2030 and the Paris Agreement 2015. His personal interests are #SustainableEnvironment and Ultra Running.
